Richard C. Dreher


After initially pursuing a career in academia, Rich spent ten years in the financial services industry. Gravitating towards his entrepreneurial side, he entered real estate in 1979 as a partner in a regional real estate brokerage company which specialized in restaurants, hotels, and other highway commercial real estate deals. He learned the ropes by working with the corporate chains in their expansion programs until the mid-1980s, when shopping centers were exploding in the suburbs. To gain that knowledge and experience, Rich joined the retail division of a national brokerage company based in New York, where he became responsible for the leasing of 3,500,000 square feet of retail space in suburban centers in New York and the Hudson Valley. Among other experiences, he had the opportunity to be part of the team responsible for the very first dozen Staples stores in the New York metro market and to work with Tom Stemberg, the founder of the chain which is now a household name and a fixture in the shopping center industry.

After the real estate meltdown that occurred in the late 1980s, Rich freelanced as a broker/developer. During this time he won an award for an urban re-development project, and consulted for an international entertainment company, acquiring and developing real estate projects across the U.S. and in Europe. In the early 1990s he aligned himself as a consultant with two families in northeast Pennsylvania with substantial real estate holdings and developed over two million square feet of centers in that region, working with national and regional supermarket chains like Giant Foods, Weis Markets, Wegmans, Sunshine Market, and Bargain Galore, as well as national big box retailers such as Home Depot, Raymour & Flanigan, Burlington Coat Factory, and Wal*Mart.

In 1994, Rich formed The Dreher Group and Sadge Development in partnership with Nicholas Scandale, owner of SABEL (Scandale Associated Builders & Engineers), a regional engineering, construction management, and general contracting business. Together they have developed more than 50 properties as Sadge Development, working with preferred clients like Rite Aid corporation, Giant Foods, CVS, Weis Markets, and others. Rich has been a preferred developer for Rite Aid since the mid-1990s, and currently has a full pipeline of deals with them through eastern Pennsylvania and central New Jersey.

Joseph DePascale

Director of Project Management, Southeastern & Central Pennsylvania

Joe joined The Dreher Group in 2006 as Director of Project Management and is responsible for over 30 projects from Central New Jersey to Central Pennsylvania.

He has 25 years of diverse land development experience with a construction and engineering background. Joe spent 10 years as a consulting engineer, designing and permitting residential, commercial and industrial developments in the Philadelphia market. He has worked for retailers Texaco and Pep Boys as a construction and architectural project manager during major expansion and renovation programs throughout the Northeast. With The Staubach Company, Joe managed roll-out programs as a real estate consultant in 10 states for retail clients including Kmart.

As Real Estate and Construction Director for a Krispy Kreme franchise, Joe was responsible for the market penetration of the company into the Philadelphia area. Immediately prior to joining the Dreher Group, Joe was working as a development manager for Preferred Real Estate Investments managing major brownfield redevelopment projects in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

Joe holds a BS in Civil Engineering from Drexel University, a Management Certificate from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and is a licensed real estate salesperson in Pennsylvania.

Patricia A. Columbo

Vice President

Patricia has been with The Dreher Group since 1997 and is involved in all aspects of commercial real estate to include project coordination, development, leasing, and marketing. She is responsible for the day to day administrative activities, finance, marketing, and management of the business.

Patricia is a graduate of Arizona State University with a BS in Business Economics.

Lew Brill

Commercial Real Estate Broker

Since joining the Dreher Group in 1998, Lew has been an integral part of the growth of the company. Lew is responsible for site location and acquisition in northeastern Pennsylvania and the Lehigh Valley.

Lew has a BS in Chemistry from Wilkes University. He previously worked in various management positions for Air Products and Chemicals.
